Frankenstein

It's that time of year again. I love going to see the Frankenstein movies at the old Stanford movie theater in Palo Alto, Ca. (My hometown) If you haven't seen the old versions you really should check them out. There is something so incredibly magical about old films.

RIP Alan Rickman

I was so incredibly saddened by Alan Rickman's passing. Friends and I got together and threw an Alan Rickman tribute night. I will always love him as an actor and he seemed to be an incredibly talented and kind human being. I am planning on doing a tribute to him with body art at some point. I already have a tattoo planned out and I am probably going to get it on my lower wrist area.

Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck

To wrap up my posts about my trip to Seattle I wanted to write about something that is very dear to my heart. My love surprised me with tickets to the Montage of Heck film. This is one of the most poignant, true and beautiful pieces of cinema I have ever seen. It is melancholy, raw and amazing. I hope that everyone is able to get a chance to see this. Stoked I was able to see it while in Seattle. Brett Morgen and others did an amazing job in putting this film together.

If you get a chance to visit Seattle please do. This is an amazing city full of much culture, diversity, brilliant music, artists, delicious food, beer, coffee and such kind and down to earth people. I have traveled many places but I was treated with more kindness in this city than anywhere else. People are real here, down to earth and excited to tell you about their city's rich history. You will love the water and nature here. There are so many places to hike and venture out to. The music history is amazing... from Jimi Hendrix, to Nirvana, Melvins and many more.

They had these books for sale at the cinema so I picked one up.

Visiting Brandon Lee in Seattle

If you are a huge Crow fan. I recommend a visit to the Brandon Lee/Bruce Lee grave stones at Lake View cemetery. This place is a must for any goth who loves The Crow. It is cool that they are buried side by side. I have loved Brandon Lee since high school and The Crow remains one of the biggest gothic influences in my life. There are incredibly grave stones here including a creepy angel statue that you should look for. The energy here is very pleasant. If you are lucky like we were you might meet some other crow fans as well. We brought Brandon some black roses and took some photos.

Interview with the Vampire movie night

For Interview with the Vampire movie night I made a coffin cake. It was a lot of fun. It was relatively easy to make. I really liked the colors that I chose for it. It was my first attempt so please forgive any messiness haha. Next time I will let it cool a bit longer before putting the frosting on. Interview with the Vampire is a great book and very fun and thrilling movie to watch.

My outfit for the movie night. I switched my bat necklace to another bat necklace at last minute because I thought it went a bit better with my outfit. Aahh got problems ;)

My new Gargoyle bookend

I got this new Gargoyle for my books. I got a pair of them and I really enjoy them very much.  My husband found another shop with a lot of Gargoyle varieties. I would like to get more in the future. My mom got me a faux fur collar goth coat for Christmas. It is one of my favorite jackets that I can hardly take off and it is good for the winter months. I wore it with my new Marilyn Manson tee and Tripp pants. I hope to wear this outfit out to dinner on a cold evening. I have been watching the last seasons of Dexter on netflix. I had to catch up because I was far behind and had so many things going on the past year I didn't get to see the finale'. I am like that with a lot of my favorite shows. I miss so much tv. I get involved in my reading, work and many activities so I often don't see shows until much later. It is fun to catch up and have marathons with friends. Lately I have been watching loads of Charlie Chaplin reruns and silent films. I really adore silent films and hope to catch the festival in down town Palo Alto when they have it next with my husband and friends.
